Day Trips

All our guests are offered optional day trips and golf days on request. We encourage the hunter’s spouse and family to accompany him on this adventure. Whereby Sable Valley Safaris will entertain the non-hunters on excursions to the nearby and well-known Sun City resort, the Marakele Game Reserve and even the Kruger National Park.

Sun City Resort

Sun City Resort in the Pilanesberg in the North West Province is one of the most remarkable destinations in Africa. The vast Sun City Resort complex, nearly 20 km in circumference, is an enormous, opulent extravaganza of luxurious hotels, glittering entertainment centres, restaurants, gaming rooms, shops, discos and extensive, beautifully landscaped grounds.

Sun City Resort is rated among the world's most unusually conceived, and most lavish, inland resorts. Adjoining Sun City Resort, is the beautiful Pilanesberg Game Reserve, which will delight game viewers as it is a malaria free zone and home to the Big 5.

The Valley of Waves, which links The Palace to the Entertainment Centre at Sun City, incorporates 22 different regions of vegetation, from a rocky outcrop of ancient baoba trees, to a lush, tropical jungle.

Marakele National Park

The Marakele National Park in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains, as its Tswana name suggests, has become a 'place of sanctuary' for an impressive variety of wildlife due to its location in the transitional zone between the dry western and moister eastern regions of South Africa.

Contrasting majestic mountain landscapes, grass-clad hills and deep valleys characterize the park. Rare finds of yellowwood and cedar trees, five metre high cycads and tree ferns, are some of the plant species found here.

All the large game species from elephant and rhino to the big cats as well as an amazing variety of birds including what’s probably the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures (more than 800 breeding pairs) in the world, have settled here at Marakele National Park.

Kruger National Park

The largest game reserve in South Africa, the Kruger National Park is larger than Israel. Nearly 2 million hectares of land that stretch for 352 kilometres (20 000 square kilometres) from north to south along the Mozambique border, is given over to an almost indescribable wildlife experience. Certainly it ranks with the best in Africa and is the flagship of the country’s national parks - rated as the ultimate safari experience.

Lying in the heart of the Lowveld is a wildlife sanctuary like no other, its atmosphere so unique that it allows those who enter its vastness to immerse themselves in the unpredictability and endless wilderness that is the true quality of Africa.

The Kruger National Park lies across the provinces of Mpumalanga and Limpopo in the north of South Africa, just south of Zimbabwe and west of Mozambique.

Zebula Golf Course

Zebula Golf Course is a classic Bushveld par 72 course, set in the open plains of the reserve with herds of game roaming freely. The course is relatively flat yet undulating, inviting to play with generous fairways and clusters of trees that act as hazards. Voted the Golf Digest's Best New Golf Course 2004 and awarded the 5 star Golf Experience for 2010 by Compleat Golfer, Zebula has matured wonderfully over the past few years into a truly great course to play.

Zebula was designed by the legendary Peter Matkovich, a golf professional for 25 years, and a world-respected golf course designer for more than 15 years. When it comes to golf course design, first and foremost Peter is an environmentalist - seamlessly blending nature and design to create golf courses that are inherently sensitive to local environments. The layout, built to USGA specifications with kikuyu fairways and bent grass greens is so much part of the bushveld experience that one wouldn't be surprised to encounter a lofty giraffe or a shy zebra or two during your golfing experience. Life just doesn't get better than this!

Zebula Spa

The Spa at Zebula is a luxurious place to retreat, renew and rediscover yourself.

The spa offers a wide range of treatments and therapies that will have you spoilt for choice, with 6 private or 4 couples treatment rooms complemented by a 3 meter raised deck, overlooking the bush on which open-air pampering manicure and pedicure treatments are highly recommended.

Relax in our indoor heated pool, or the two outdoor jacuzzi’s which are set in a tranquil bird garden – the perfect place to unwind.

Relax while we combine nature’s inherent healing and beautifying qualities with the very latest technologies to create balance and harmony of the body.
